HOW DO I FIND THE SIZE OF MY BAT BARREL?
The size of your bat barrel is usually measured in inches (e.g., 2 5/8”), and is typically written on the barrel of a bat. Most barrel widths are 2 1/4”, 2 5/8”, or 2 3/4”.
WILL VARO FIT A SOFTBALL, SLOW PITCH OR YOUTH BAT?
Yes, we have Varo weights that fit youth bats, softball bats, big barrel bats, including wood bats and metal bats. Our Varo weights fit bats as indicated, and please ensure the correct fit Varo for your bat type. See the above FAQ for Sizing information, the ARC, the ARC Softball and COR pages, and always contact us if you have any questions about the sizing.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ARC, ARC SOFTBALL AND THE COR?
At Varo, we’re crazy about giving the perfect feel to each player for his or her specific batting preference. That’s why we’ve created two very different feeling bat weights.
The ARC is designed for players desiring ‘barrel feel’ through the zone, with 12 ounces of advance distributed weight. The ARC is perfect for developing a swing with an inside path to the baseball and softball. The ARC is designed to protect your bat, condition off-field, and dial in your swing before stepping up to the plate.
The ARC Softball is the official bat weight of Jennie Finch. It is designed specifically for Softball and Fastpitch bats. With the weight distributed over the sweet spot, you’ll get all the Varo ARC benefits described above.
The COR is designed to provide a traditional weighted feel, with 20 ounces of balanced weight. The COR is perfect for taking traditional weighted swings, with a greater emphasis on wind resistance, and protection of the bat’s sweet spot.
Despite being different, both the ARC and the COR still offer the same protection for the sweet spot of your barrel, keeping it safe while you travel.
THE VARO ARC IS LIGHTER THAN MANY OTHER BATTING WEIGHTS, WHY?
The Varo ARC’s revolutionary weight distribution technology disperses weight to the end of the bat, providing a weighted 'barrel feel.' Our weight distribution technology achieves a more efficient weighted swing, allowing use of less weight on your bat.
For those players who desire a more traditional weighted feel, the Varo COR provides a traditional feel, with all the improvements and beneifts of our Varo technology.
WHY IS THE VARO COR NOT AVAILABLE IN A 2 1/4” SIZE?
With the COR’s 20oz heavier weight and feel (compared to the ARC’s 12oz), it is designed for older athletes using larger barrel bats. However, we pride ourselves on providing the perfect product for every swing – that’s why we’ve found that the Varo ARC 12oz SMALL provides the perfect mix of weight and barrel feel for younger baseball players swinging 2 1/4” barrel baseball bats.
We’ve also found that by the time most players are old enough to start using the 2 5/8” and 2 3/4” barrels, they’ve also become strong enough to start handling the Varo COR and to decide which feel they like better for themselves.
For softball, the ARC Softball provides weight over the sweet spot of the barrel...unlike any other product. Because of the longer barrels of softball bats, the ARC Softball provides the optimal weight distribution for softball and fastpitch players.
HOW DO I APPLY A VARO WEIGHT ON MY BAT?
See the visual diagram on the ARC, ARC Softball and COR pages as a start.
Slide the handle of your bat through the top (which says “VARO”) end of the Varo weight and slide the Varo weight towards the end of the barrel of your bat. The Varo weight should ‘catch’ on the taper of your bat, so that the top of the Varo weight (which says “VARO”) is on the barrel, and the bottom of the weight is closer to your hands.
If you are still having trouble, look inside your Varo weight. The end with fins on the inside is the True Fit Core end, and this end should be closest to the handle of your bat.
WHEN AND WHERE SHOULD I USE MY VARO?
Varo weights are designed and created to protect your bat, condition off-field, and dial-in your swing before stepping up to the plate. So, use your Varo weight in the on-deck circle before stepping to the plate and off-the field to condition baseball and softball specific muscles (meaning, you can condition in your backyard). We suggest keeping your Varo on your bat anytime you're not hitting, so that it protects your bat, especially keeping the sweet spot out of harm's way. Just remember, Varo weights are not designed for live batting so don't strike baseballs or softballs (or any other objects, including tees) with the ARC or COR on your bat.
CAN I HIT WITH THE VARO BAT WEIGHT ON?
No! Varo weights are not designed to hit with, or to strike any objects with. Do not hit baseballs, softballs, tennis balls, or anything off a tee, etc. Striking objects may damage your Varo weight and may cause injury.
CAN VARO WEIGHTS BE SHARED WITH OTHER PLAYERS?
Varo Baseball always encourages sharing. However, we suggest that each player use his or her personal Varo for optimal results. This allows the player to be able to condition on their own, away from the field. It also allows the player to keep his or her own personal bat safe while traveling. Varo weights are high performance equipment, and specifically designed for individual use.
WHERE DO VAROS COME FROM?
All Varo weights are designed, created and manufactured in the USA with the vigorous involvement of players and coaches at all levels. We're serious about bat weights, and you should be too.
WHO'S VARO MADE FOR?
You've probably seen your favorite Pros and Major League teams swinging Varo bat weights, but we have models for all players. Designed to benefit players of all skill levels and ages, Varo bat weights are created for players from Youth to Pro to Softball.
Read all instructions, warnings and the Warranty & Guarantee before use. Improper use of product can potentially result in serious injury or death to players, coaches and spectators.
